DanDill-20161114-0607-Master - Moon
Supermoon setting over Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 6:05 am, Monday, November 14, 2016. The reddening of the Moon is due to preferential scattering away of blue light by the greater path length through the atmosphere near moonset. Irregularity in the moon shape is due to air turbulence, perhaps from the warmth of the buildings in Cambridge. The Moon was 99.8% full, its elevation was 1.5 degrees, moonset was 6:17 am, and sunrise was 6:34 am. Copyright 2016 Dan Dill (dan@bu.edu). All rights reserved.
